TAGGING!!!

We are looking for lots of parents to drive our cadets to locations! Please see note below:

Requesting parent drivers to help with Tagging April 2016

All cadets are required to participate in 3 shifts of tagging. This is the squadron’s primary fundraiser and as such, all are required to contribute. If you cannot complete your shifts, please bring a signed note by your parent/guardian on Monday. Cadets will meet at LHQ (basement of the daycare) for all shifts. Cadets enter through the back door, while parents volunteering to drive enter through the front.

The shifts are as follows:

  • Friday, April 15, 2016: 5 pm to 9:00 pm
  • Saturday, April 16, 2016: 9 am to 1pm AND 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Sunday, April 17, 2016: 10:30 am to 5:30 pm.

NOTE: Optional ½ day (1 shift) is in the afternoon 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm. If you arrive at 10:30 am, you are required to complete a full day (2 shifts). No exceptions will be made.

Cadets need to arrive 30 minutes before their shift starts (except for Friday – just come as early as possible). Cadets who are staying all day on Saturday and Sunday will receive lunch money and will stay at the locations they are tagging at for their lunch. Cadets are reminded that they have 30 minutes for their lunch.

Spring Field Training Exercise: May 27-29, 2016

Our spring FTX is quickly approaching. All cadets are required to attend at lease one FTX per training year in order to successfully complete their level requirements. Please see below for the permission form and exact details. We are definitely hoping for better weather for this one and our spring FTX is always a lot of fun!

Reminder for all cadets regarding attendance:

Please ensure that you report ALL absences through the website or call and leave a message at the squadron PRIOR to the activity. For parade nights, all calls/emails must be received prior to 1845hrs (6:45pm) for it to count as an excused absence. If we do not receive a call or email, phone calls will be made home to to account for your absence.

We are on stand down for Easter Monday. Enjoy your night off cadets!

Drill team will be on stand down until the warmer weather arrives. Questions should be directed to FSgt Bath. 

Band is also on stand down this week. Be sure to keep up with your practicing!

Spring Gliding

April 23-24, 2016 (3 shifts)

We have 3 sessions of gliding coming up. It is open to all cadets and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. All amplifying details are located in the permission form below:

Please refer to last week’s announcements for details. If you did not submit a permission form but would still like to attend, please let us know via the Contact Us section as we still have some spots available. 

Receipts for Assessment Fees

Receipts are available via Email:

The receipts are available for the assessment fees paid to the squadron.  Parents who would like their receipt are to send an email to 758newsletter@gmail.com stating that they would like their receipt.  Please indicate if you have more than one Cadet. A receipt will then be sent to you via email shortly afterward.

This is also a friendly reminder that there are still several lottery ticket stubs that are overdue.  Please bring them in this Monday.

Supply: Supply will have an open door policy next week (no appointments required). If you need to exchange something, please bring the item with you to cadets.

Sky Zone – Sunday, February 21, 2016

Sky Zone Trampoline Park

Cadets who submitted a permission form for the Sky Zone activity will arrive at Sky Zone Mississauga, 3636 Hawkestone Road, Mississauga, ON L5C 2V2, on 21 Feb 2016. Arrival time is no later than 1230 hrs (12:30pm). Parents shall return to pick up their cadets at 1445 hrs (2:45pm). The costs of this activity will be covered by 758 Squadron, but cadets will be responsible for any purchase of food or snacks. 

NOTE:  Health Card check will be done by staff upon cadet’s arrival to the activity.  Cadet will not be able to participate in the activity if they do not have a health card. Cadets under 18 years of age, must also have a parent sign the waiver available at the link below. If the waiver is not signed, cadets will not participate.

Dress is suitable PT gear. Cadets are advised to bring a water bottle. Rations are not provided for this activity. Cadets with epi-pens or inhalers must bring them with them or they will not be allowed to participate.  Medications brought on this activity must be in the original container, which shall be clearly marked with Cadets name as well as usage instructions.
