All cadets are invited to our annual holiday party on Monday, December 16, 2019 (regular parade timings). Appropriate civilian clothing. The usual rules apply with respect to reporting absences.
Please remember to bring any non-perishable food items for the Holiday Food Drive supporting the Knights Table. Each item collected will count towards flight points.
We look forward to celebrating with everyone before we break for the holidays.
All level 4 and 5 cadets will be participating in professional development in the main classroom during period 1 every Monday evening, with the exception of CO’s parades.
An update to the training calendar will be distributed/posted shortly but for Nov 18, please check under Resources for the schedule.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, band and drill will be cancelled on Tuesday. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Attention all first year cadets:
We will be conducting a recruit training course this weekend with details as follows:
Date: Saturday and Sunday, November 16-17
Time: 0915-1500hrs (3:00pm) each day (this is not an overnight activity)
Location: Cardinal Leger Secondary School
Dress: Comfortable (appropriate) civilian attire with comfortable shoes
Materials: Bring a notepad and a pen/pencil, reusable water bottle and a lunch/snacks. Food will not be provided.
All recruits are highly encouraged to attend this course. We understand it has been a busy fall but this course will provide you with the tools and resources to prepare you to be integrated with a flight (drill, general cadet knowledge, uniform skills, etc.). Should you not be able to attend, please use the attendance form to report your absence. Even if you’re able to attend a portion of the course, it will be very helpful to you.
Please read in full for details regarding a few events this weekend.

The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 609, has requested our assistance in supporting the Poppy Campaign. For more information on what the Poppy Campaign is, click here.
What does this mean for you?
We are asking that all cadets participate in whatever capacity they can (there is no limit to the number of shifts you can do). This is an extremely important initiative for the Legion and the community and this is also our way of giving back to the Legion as they support the squadron. Cadets in high school may also earn hours towards their volunteer service.
All shifts will occur within the Bramalea City Centre. We typically meet near the elevators on the first floor but that will be confirmed shortly.
Dress: C2 (full dress with ribbons) or for cadets without a uniform, the usual black and white.
Shift Dates and Times (please contact us to advise which shift(s) you plan on attending):
|Date||Shift 1||Shift 2|
|Sat Oct 26 (AM)||1000-1400||1400-1800|

For Monday, October 21, 2019
The training schedule for tomorrow will be switched with the following week – meaning, the fitness test for level 2 and up will occur on the 28th.
Cadets who wish to wear civilian clothing tomorrow may do so with a $2.00 donation to the squadron (donation will be added to tagging total).
We apologize for any confusion.
We are looking for lots of parents to drive our cadets to locations! If you can volunteer to drive, please speak to a member of the sponsoring committee when you drop your cadet off and ensure you have a valid driver’s license and insurance. If you have questions, please email email@example.com for more information.
Parents, please take care when dropping off your cadet. On Friday evening, there may be some overlap with the daycare and the parking lot will be busy. Please drive with care.
All cadets are required to participate in 3 shifts of tagging. This is the squadron’s primary fundraiser and as such, all are required to contribute. Cadets will meet at LHQ (basement of the daycare) for all shifts. Cadets enter through the back door, while parents volunteering to drive enter through the front.
The shifts are as follows:
- Friday, Oct 18, 2019: 5 pm to 9:00 pm (arrive as early as you can – we know many cannot arrive that early)
- Saturday, Oct 19, 2019: 9 am to 1 pm AND 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm
- Sunday, Oct 20, 2019: 10:30 am to 5:30 pm.
NOTE: Optional ½ day (1 shift) is in the afternoon on Sunday 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm. If you arrive at 10:30 am, you are required to complete a full day (2 shifts). No exceptions will be made.
Cadets who are staying all day on Saturday and Sunday will receive lunch money and will stay at the locations they are tagging at for their lunch. Cadets are reminded that they have 30 minutes for their lunch.
Uniforms must be pressed, boots polished, hair groomed, etc. Cadets who do not yet have a uniform are required to meet the same standard in what they wear. We are in the public eye and as such, are representatives of the cadet program as a whole. Cadets who are fooling around, slouching, chewing gum, etc. are not a positive reflection of the squadron and the program and will be cautioned accordingly.
Just a reminder to cadets in band and drill that drill will practice at the school this week (St. Isaac Jogues, 300 Great Lakes Dr, Brampton, ON L6R 2W7) and the band will meet at LHQ (55 Avondale Blvd., Brampton, ON).
