Competition details for Saturday, April 21, 2018
Cadets who are participating in the band and drill competition this weekend will be excused from tagging on Friday evening and all day Saturday. Please ensure that your uniforms are perfect – badge placement, boots shiny, sharp creases in pants, etc.!!!!
Drill team practice – Friday from 1800-2100hrs, weather permitting. We will post an updated note on Friday by 1600hrs to confirm practice. Practice will be in civilian clothing – no boots but bring your wedge.
The competition will be held at CFB Borden, approx. 1.5 hours away.
Permission forms are to be signed and brought in hard copy (not a scan on your phone!) on Saturday. Please bring your health card and any medications you require to take throughout the day.
Please meet the bus on Saturday morning at 0915hrs in civilian clothing. Bring your uniform on a hanger(s) and in a garment bag (a garbage bag with a hole poked through it for the hanger(s) will suffice if you don’t have a garment bag). Label your bag with your name and squadron number (758). Boots should be covered or wrapped in kiwi cloths to ensure they don’t get scuffed. Lunch will be provided and will consist of box lunch. We can’t guarantee how many vegetarian meals will be provided so we recommend bringing your own lunch just in case. There is nowhere to purchase food.
Cadets should return to LHQ (55 Avondale Blvd) at approx. 1730hrs (5:30PM). We will have cadets call or text when we are on our way.
TAGGING: APRIL 20, 21, AND 22, 2018
We are looking for lots of parents to drive our cadets to locations! If you can volunteer to drive, please speak to a member of the sponsoring committee when you drop your cadet off and ensure you have a valid driver’s license and insurance. If you have questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Parents, please take care when dropping off your cadet. On Friday evening, there may be some overlap with the daycare and the parking lot will be busy. Please drive with care.
All cadets are required to participate in 3 shifts of tagging. This is the squadron’s primary fundraiser and as such, all are required to contribute. If you cannot complete your shifts, please bring a signed note by your parent/guardian the following Monday. Cadets will meet at LHQ (basement of the daycare) for all shifts. Cadets enter through the back door, while parents volunteering to drive enter through the front.
The shifts are as follows:
- Friday, April 20, 2018: 5 pm to 9:00 pm (arrive as early as you can – we know many cannot arrive that early)
- Saturday, April 21, 2018: 9 am to 1 pm AND 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm
- Sunday, October 22, 2017: 10:30 am to 5:30 pm.
NOTE: Optional ½ day (1 shift) is in the afternoon on Sunday 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm. If you arrive at 10:30 am, you are required to complete a full day (2 shifts). No exceptions will be made.
Cadets who are staying all day on Saturday and Sunday will receive lunch money and will stay at the locations they are tagging at for their lunch. Cadets are reminded that they have 30 minutes for their lunch.
Uniforms must be pressed, boots polished, hair groomed, etc. Cadets who do not yet have a uniform are required to meet the same standard in what they wear. We are in the public eye and as such, are representatives of the cadet program as a whole. Cadets who are fooling around, slouching, chewing gum, etc. are not a positive reflection of the squadron and the program and will be cautioned accordingly.

Cadets will still be on tonight for those who are able to make it. If you are unable to attend, please ensure to report your absence using the attendance form on under the contact us page.
Cadets are invited to wear appropriate civilian clothing tonight for a minimum donation of $2.00. All proceeds will be donated in support of the Humboldt Broncos.
Range Team will be cancelled this evening (Thursday, April 5, 2018).
There will be range team on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 1400hrs to 1800hrs. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Due to circumstances out of our control, both morning and afternoon Gliding shifts for Saturday, April 7th have been cancelled. There are no changes to Gliding on Sunday, April 8th.
Any cadets that originally signed up for the Saturday shifts available to attend Gliding on Sunday must email email@example.com no later than Friday, April 6th to let us know they would like to attend on Sunday. Space is limited but we will do our best to accommodate.

Just a reminder that we are on stand down for March Break so no cadets this week.
Practice dates/times have been updated for Range Team on the calendar. Next practice is on Sunday, March 18.
Coordinating instructions for cadets (updated Thursday, February 22, 2018)
Cadets are to meet the bus at 0700hrs at the Brampton Armouries at 2 Chapel Street in Brampton. The competition will be held at the Orangeville Agricultural Centre. Please dress comfortably in civilian clothing, bring some snacks if you wish and lunch will consist of MRE’s (if you don’t want an MRE, feel free to bring a lunch). There is nowhere to purchase food but there may be a canteen available.
We will return to the Armouries at approximately 1800hrs (we will have cadets phone or text when we are on our way home).
Permission slips – cadets are asked to print, get signed by a parent/guardian, and bring with them to meet the bus on Saturday.
